I forgot something from yesterday. We saw about 30 old cars going in the other direction. There was a model T, Ford pickup from the 30s, early 50s Pontiac and Mercury etc. They were quite neat and stood out in the middle of the semis.
Today we travelled along Lake Superior. I can understand why it is called Superior. It is indeed grand. We saw a couple of islands were we could build a retreat (if we were independently wealthy and 20 years younger). We have managed to spend time beside all 5 great lakes.
The road was continous hills and valleys; although it seemed that it was more up than down. In one place we went from 220 to 488 meters above sea level in about 2 km. When you are driving along it is simple things that amuse you, such as:
- Gargantuan road which was a small dirt road.
- Old Woman Bay. I wonder who she was.
- Post Office road and Anglican Church road. Seemed that the people who named these streets (in the same community) were quite creative?
- 24 road construction sites and one line painting crew
- And even one called Larry’s Road.
It was a fairly long day of travelling and we were glad when Thunder Bay appeared ahead of us. I was weary and I can only imagine how tired Greg was as he does all the driving. Another long day planned for tomorrow.

Thank you for a lovely supper and visit I really enjoyed it
We had a good time. It was wonderful to see you again. BTW, the Trolley Tour is definitely something you should to do. There is so much history in Winnipeg. To quote Marion “who knew?” We have a room for you anytime you come to Edmonton.
Was Larry’s Road paved?
Nope, so there’s a project for you. We just can’t remember exactly where we saw it. We know roughly where is was.
Ok. I will search for it.
