3 Musketeers Ride Again: Epilogue

Everyone had a down day with time to visit family.  I had a great  visit with Margery which included going out for a couple of great meals, seeing where all the local hot cars hang out, doing laundry and relaxing.

Tuesday, August 27th we met for breakfast with Ties’s brother in law, Joe.  Then we hit the road for another marathon riding day that took us over the Coca-Cola pass (Coquihalla) with a quick stop for fuel and food at Kamloops and then on to our stop for the day at Blue River.

The morning of August 28th was very cool and wet, so full rain gear was the choice for the day.  Breakfast and go.  As we neared Mount Robson that was obscured by very thick cloud cover, we were totally amazed to discover that the sky around Mount Robson was completely clear.  Being only the second time I have ever seen the top we stopped briefly to snap a few pix.  It was really somewhat bazaar as the sky all around us was covered by clouds and the only clear patch of sky was the area around the mountain.  Mount Robson in normally noted for producing its own obscuring cloud cover when the rest of the sky clear.  This was the exact opposite and made for an unusual view.

I did sort of drop a surprise on Larry and Ties in that I arrange to catch up with my cousin Connie and her husband Ken for a coffee and pastries on the open air patio of The Other Paw Bakery on the main street of Jasper.  What an amazing juncture of events.  The sky was completely clear and was that stunning shade of blue one sees only in the Canadian Rockies. The stunning blue, the magnificent snow topped Canadian Rockies, the wonderful flavourful food, the radiant sun bathing us with its warming rays, reliving treasured family moments and the company of two good friends.  Life does not ever get much better.  What a magnificent conclusion to this adventure.
