So, I have been home(ish) for a couple of weeks so its time to roll again. So here we are the Three Musketeers Ride Again. For those of you who know us, you know that Ties, Larry and myself have ridden together of decades(ish). Hard to believe, but it has already been 10 years since the group of us trundled off to the other side of the planet to ride through the Austrian Alps as well as Germany, Italy and Switzerland. So on the eve of this tenth anniversary, here we are off and rolling down the road again.
Awake at 0530 and wondering why I didn’t sleep the extra half hour. Oh well, may as well get up and start doing things. Well lets see, helmet…already in the bike last night. Clothes, already in the bike last night. Extra bike stuff…hmmmm, well looks like everything I could do, I did last night.
After a hardy breakfast at the Saratoga Restaurant it was side stands up and down the highway. A stop at Red Deer at Turple Motors was a definite requirement. We had some equipment that was in need of replacement and of course some of which we forgot to pack.
On to Calgary where we met up with my cousin Lee at the Big T BBQ Restaurant. After great food, great company and a lot of laughs it was time to roll on down the road to our destination of Pincher Creek.
After checking into the motel we went to visit Larry’s mother-in-law who just celebrated her 104th birthday the day before. Happy birthday Marie Smyth! It was a real pleasure meeting you.
When we got back to the motel we discovered that Billy-Bob-Mikey-Joe and a bunch of his kin-folk parked their one-half-ton-pick-me-up-truck right in front of our room. Then a few more of his next of kin dropped in fer-a-spell.
It sure was fun riding together again.
