From See Two See: June 25, 2019

We spent Saturday, Sunday and Monday visiting family and friends,  getting things organized and reorganized in the RV for the last few weeks of travel.  We delivered Mum’s quilting frames and stands to the museum in Gagetown. They made the trip from Edmonton with us, having been at our nieces for several years.  When Margery and I were home last year we talked with the curator and she told us that she would love these frames.  Nice to give them a good home.

Back to the wonderful W.W.E. Smith Market for Mrs. Dunster’s donuts and ice-cream

Monday we also had time for a motorcycle ride. Our original goal was to go to Grand Manan but the winds were blowing a tad much for the two of us to go. So we went for a 200+km run in another direction looking for one last cone of Grapenut ice-cream and a supply of Mrs. Dunster’s donuts before we left NB. We didn’t find Grapenut so had to make do with another flavour, but we did find Mrs. Dunster’s

We took off this morning after saying good-bye and thanks to David and SJ. They arrived home Monday night from a trip to Finland and Estonia. Our first stop was the Covered Bridge Potato Chip Factory in Hartland.  We never knew they existed until Marilyn Cebuliak gave us a bag a few  months ago.

They had a nice self-guided tour about the company and the process of chip making. We could also watch the chips being made in the factory.  We learned that sweet potatoes aren’t really potatoes and as they don’t grow as yet in NB they have to import them for their sweet potato chips. The rest of the potatoes are from the area.  It was great to learn that they only use non-GMO potatoes.  We learned that they make their own non-GMO popcorn also. What was good was at the end of the tour we each got a bag of chips and could add our own spices to them (for example, lobster, hot dog, and the usual salt and vinegar etc.). A few bags made their way into our RV.

Drool, drool, drool, and drool some more

We stopped in Edmundston for the night at the same place we stopped a month ago. Burt, the director of the park, recognized our ham radio and motorcycle and came out to greet us.  While we had booked a site he was able to get us one that had more services than the one we had been able to book on-line. Also, thanks to Burt who told us about a province wide ham radio net, we were able to check in and chat with other hams across New Brunswick and into the state of Maine.
