We looked out the window this morning and had a hard time believing it was the longest day of the year as the storm that descended upon us kept the sky dark and foreboding. The projected 75 mm of rain did little to deter us from heading out. We bundled up in our rain jackets and headed back to the cape and the Flower Pots for low tide.
It was such a good idea to have been there in high tide first as the change in the water level seemed much more dramatic. So neat to walk on the ocean floor; without water. After exploring as many nooks and crannies as we could we headed back to the truck dripping with rain. To make up for the dampness we stopped at a café called Cinnamon Soul in Hillsboro. The couple sitting next to us said they drove out every week from Riverview (suburb of Moncton) to have a cinnamon bun. So we had to try one. The cinnamon buns were completely and utterly devoid of anything resembling raisins and therefore not ‘real cinnamon buns’ but the chewy texture of the dough and the buttery taste compensated substantially.
As we hopped back in the truck we managed to go about two blocks when we saw a sign for a German bakery. I resisted going in but Greg had a look and managed to come out with a bag full of stuff. That was our last stop till we reached Oromocto when we stopped for groceries and then headed to our RV. Most of the drive back was fraught with the challenge of the driving rain and cross winds. Hmmm? Not the first time on this trip. The rest of the day was spent in unpacking the truck and putting things away in the RV in between the rain that had reduced to showers with short gaps. Amazing what we had packed away, every little spot, opening, and gap, both in the truck and under the deck had something tucked into it. Funny, we didn’t leave here with all that stuff. It was good to be back in our own space. Back home as it were.

So happy to be on the journey. It is wonderful to have also been to these places and now able to share these wonders with you.
Thanks. It is really great knowing that someone is actually reading these. It can take up to a couple of hours to do a single posting and its kind of like being a radio announcer. They talk into a microphone and hope to heaven that someone is actually listening.
Good you are covering/ documenting all the eastern highlights. I am currently staking out my shore excursions. I won’t have to say anything when I get back in September you have written it all. As for the weather, you are not missing anything here. A smattering of warm sprinkled with a healthy dose of wet and cold.🤣
You could just decide to stay at home and send us your money then we could extend our stay and blog even more.
