Its going to be a fairly short one today. We did have time to enjoy a bit of the resort today. Pretty much what you would expect. Although the area is fairly new as a tourist destination, the two places the event is booked into were both being renovated. I have to say the trades people work very hard and their days are long. They seem to pay a lot of attention to detail.
We did have some time to go for a splash in the Sea of Cortez. The beach goes on for kilometers, the sky was crystal blue, the water was warner than anyone expected. As a tourist destination, the area is mostly undiscovered by the throngs. Very much the same way Cancun was 40 years ago.
For most of our day we worked on studying the routes, reading all the event material, studying the rules. There was a kickoff banquet consisting of a majority of Mexican dishes that I didn’t recognize but tasted great. Following the banquet were a series of there meetings which occupied us until after 9:00pm.
Tomorrow starts early, sidestands up at 4:30am so revelry will sound at about 3:30am. Tomorrow is a very long riding day so you may or may not have an update to read.
